more to let go of

Valley Love
Inez Caroline
~
i dont know why, i cant say how
it could be me, or just right now
the weight of hearts
two world apart
no cherished love, no move too smart.

some words arranged, yet none exchanged
the lost of an alliance still strange
no message too clear
no saving the blue
no keeping on paths too easy to veer,

silent and strong, but too far to belong.
no will to admit its too much truth to be wrong
the miles they mar
those hearts too far
that mark of devotion, now nothing but a scar.

i wrote this poem, months and months ago. regarding whom it was written for, or written About i should say, i think it's quite self explanatory and reads for itself pretty much. this poem signified the end of something that was once good for me, and good to me. i was the happiest i had ever been up to that point and as far as my selfish reasons were concerned, i was OUT of singapore and that brought me all the joy and peace i could have ever hoped for.

but as with the seasons, change in inevitable. things come and things go. only i was bitter for a long while about letting it out of my sight when i should have seen it coming. i took a leap of faith when i booked my flight and for all intent and purposes, that leap was well rewarded and i happily basked in it's glory for too long after. but those days are over. and on i've moved.

publishing this poem wasnt as hard as i had initially thought. when i first wrote this i was lost. lost in the misery of losing something that was so far away and knowing that i had absolutely NO control over how to situation panned out. one of us had to move our lives over to new lands in order for it to work out and i guess, none of us was really ready for that kind of a change yet. so bitter and angry i kept this poem in the many folds of my heart. and laptop. till now. till now when it no longer matters anymore and i look back at those days with fond memories. be it a dream or reality, it was beautiful to behold and i am grateful, as always, for the opportunity it gave me to be free and happy.

if anything, i've learnt that in order to fully embrace the newer things in life, the older has to go. and me writing this poem was me letting go. just a little too overdue with the publishing.
