jardin d'Hiver

what if you woke up today with only the things you were thankful for yesterday?

i've been sitting here staring at the screen for the longest time, trying to decide how to phrase out this post nicely, seeing as i practically consider myself an unadorned writer. but i think, i can simply say "I am grateful." i have possibly everything i'll ever need right here before my eyes, and the only barrier between me and my paradise is my indecision to simply reach out and claim it. i have food in my tummy (albeit expensive tonight), love in my heart, friends around me who love me and care for me like they would their own, and i have pleasing physical aesthetics. and i mean this in the most humbled manner ever. sometimes i think i take for granted the amount of leeway i've been given simply because i look the way i do and i dont think i will ever be able to count the number of times the scales have been tipped in my favor because i look the way i do.

i am grateful for the chance to travel the way i do. for the ability to go out and constantly meet new people from all over the world because of my travels and my friends. traveling so much has also given me the ability of great speech and diction and for that i am extremely grateful too. i can never imagine a world in which Inez cannot speak well. and i am so grateful to have been given the opportunities to grow as a person through the beauty of language.

i am so grateful for my friends, for these are the people who will be stupid with me and never judge me for every stupid looking picture i might take, or every wrong move i make. these are the people who accept me the way i am and i am forever grateful. it can change the world really, just having a few good friends whom you can trust and count on.

i am grateful, for every lost cause of a boyfriend that i've ever had in all my failed relationships. for without them i would have reached no depth. i would still be the shallow innocent and naive girl i was before. for teaching me that every one is different and if we only understood that everyone has their own battles to fight, the world would be a much kinder place. for teaching me the true meaning of faith and that whatever that's meant to happen will happen in its due course, and if by the lucky chance it does happen, to always remember that This Too Shall Pass so appreciate every little moment of what you've got while you've still got it.

i am grateful.
i simply am.
n'oubliez pas de toujours ĂȘtre reconnaissants.
